Okay, can we talk about November for a minute?
Because this is the time of year when I stand in my closet and think, what exactly are we wearing right now?
It’s not quite winter. Fall is definitely still hanging on. One day you need a sweater, the next you're regretting that sweater by 2:00 in the afternoon. And somehow we're also supposed to be thinking about Thanksgiving outfits, holiday pictures and all the things coming up over the next few weeks.
But I have to say, this is also one of my favorite times of year to get dressed.
Give me a pretty sweater, great jeans, a romantic dress and something cozy to throw over it, and I'm happy.
So instead of overthinking it, here are a few of the outfit formulas I'm loving for November—and, more importantly, things you can actually wear in real life.
First of All, Give Me a Good Sweater
I love a sweater, but I don't want every sweater in my closet to look exactly the same.
You know what I mean?
I want the one with the pretty neckline. The great sleeve. An unexpected detail. Something that makes jeans and a sweater feel like an outfit, rather than just what I put on because I was cold.
That's probably why I'm always drawn to pieces with a little romance to them.
Give me texture, a beautiful knit, an off-the-shoulder neckline or some feminine detail and I'm in.
Pair it with great denim, boots and maybe a cute bag and you're done.
And honestly? That's the kind of outfit I want most days.

Let's Talk About the Jeans
If you've been around My Pampered Life for a while, you already know I have a thing for statement denim.
And I stand by it.
If I'm going to wear jeans—which I do all the time—why shouldn't they be fun?
A great flare, an interesting wash, a little embroidery, an unexpected detail...those are the jeans that can take a really simple top and make the whole outfit.
You don't need ten complicated pieces.
Great jeans + pretty sweater + boots.
Done.
And you look like you tried much harder than you actually did. My favorite kind of outfit.
I'm Not Putting the Dresses Away
I refuse.
Especially the pretty floral ones.
Just because it's November doesn't mean everything in our closets suddenly has to become black leggings and giant sweaters until March.
A romantic midi dress with boots and a cardigan is SO pretty this time of year.
And actually, I think some of those softer dresses look even better in fall because you get that contrast between the feminine dress and the heavier textures of boots, knits and jackets.
It's also an easy way to get more wear out of the things you already own.
We're not packing away the pretty stuff. We're just adding layers.

The Secret Is Really One Good Layer
This is probably the easiest thing you can do right now.
Start with a simple outfit and add one really good layer.
A chunky cardigan.
A ruana.
A beautiful open-front sweater.
A soft jacket.
Suddenly the outfit looks finished.
I especially love anything with movement or texture because it gives you that romantic, slightly undone look that I think is so much prettier than something that feels overly styled.
And when you inevitably get too warm later?
Take it off.
November problem solved.

Can We Also Appreciate November Colors?
This color palette might be my favorite of the entire year.
Chocolate brown. Cream. Camel. Navy. Sage. Burgundy. Warm florals.
Yes to all of it.
And you absolutely do not have to walk around looking like a pumpkin spice latte to dress for fall. 😂
I actually love mixing those deeper fall colors with softer romantic shades—cream, dusty florals, muted pinks and warm neutrals.
It keeps everything feeling feminine without becoming too sweet.
And Then There's Thanksgiving...
Which brings us to the other November dilemma:
What are we wearing for Thanksgiving?
My requirements are pretty simple.
I want to look cute.
I want to be comfortable.
And I absolutely do not want to regret my waistband after dinner.
That's where an easy midi dress, a soft sweater with comfortable denim, or a pretty skirt and knit comes in.
Thanksgiving is not the day for an outfit that requires constant adjusting.
We're eating. We're visiting. We're probably sitting around longer than expected. Someone is going to take pictures.
Cute + comfortable wins.
Every time.
My Easiest November Outfit Formula
When I don't know what to wear, this is basically what I'm doing:
Something comfortable + one romantic detail + one great layer.
That's it.
Statement jeans + a pretty sweater + boots.
A floral midi + cardigan + boots.
Simple top + denim + a gorgeous ruana.
Skirt + soft knit + cute shoes.
Nothing complicated.
Because I don't think getting dressed should feel like a project.

Wear the Pretty Things
I think sometimes we save our favorite clothes for somewhere we're “going.”
And I'm trying not to do that.
Wear the pretty sweater to lunch.
Wear the fun jeans to run errands.
Wear the romantic dress to dinner on a random Tuesday.
You don't need an event.
If putting on something beautiful makes an ordinary day feel a little more special, that's reason enough to wear it.
And that's really what I want My Pampered Life to be about.
Not clothes you buy and save for someday.
Pieces you love, wear and actually live your life in.
So this November, pull out the sweaters, keep wearing the dresses, find the jeans that make you feel amazing and add a little romance wherever you can.
Because winter will be here soon enough. 🤎
